Coach Steve Turro Coach Turro graduated from Verona High School in 1959 and after spending some time in the “Service” graduated from Bloomfield College in 1966. He came to Ramapo in 1966 as an English Teacher and was named Teacher of the Year. Aside from teaching, Steve coached both football and baseball for the Raiders. During his tenure as Head Varsity Baseball Coach, Steve amassed 222 wins and two NBIL Championships (1975 and 1981). Steve also served as Assistant Varsity Football Coach from 1974-1984 and helped coach the Raiders to two State Championships. Steve and his wife, Karen, have four children, Jackie, Steve, Mike and Ed, and nine grandchildren living in the Metro area, while they reside in New Bern, NC.
