Class of 1980
Football
Basketball
Baseball

When Bobby Vissers graduated Ramapo in 1980, he had accumulated 8 varsity letters in three sports and a host of athletic honors. Like most of the other Hall of Fame inductees he was a team Captain in two of those sports, and like most of the other recipients he went on to a distinguished college career.

In football, Bob was a three-year varsity letter winner who played both offense and defense for the Raiders. Besides being named team Captain his senior year he was also selected to the All-League, All Suburban and All-County teams.

As a basketball player, Bob won three varsity letters. A center, he was rated one of the top defensive players in the county. His senior year he was again named Captain and voted All-League honors.

Bob won two varsity letters in baseball, where he set school records for batting average, at bats, and most doubles in a season. He was awarded to the first team All-League, All-Suburban and All-County teams his senior year.

Moving on to Boston College, Bob played offense and defense for the Eagles and was the center for 1984 Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie. For his leadership abilities, Bob was awarded the Boston College Athletic Association’s John J. Quirk Coach’s Award in 1983.

Currently residing in Killingworth, Connecticut, Bob has owned employment agency and software company since 1995. Married, he and his wife Kathleen have two children, Jerry 14 and Claire 5.
