Lloyd Osafo





A 2000 Ramapo graduate, Lloyd was a four-year varsity letter earner and starter for the Raider soccer team. While leading Ramapo to three league titles, he was selected as NBIL Player of the Year three times. In 1999, he led Ramapo to a share of the Group 3 State soccer championship. Lloyd is a four-time 1st Team All-County player and three-time 1st Team All-State; Lloyd was also selected onto the Bergen County All-Century and All-Decade Teams.  Along with being named the New Jersey Player of the Year in 1998, he was also recognized as the Bergen County Player of the Year in 1998 and 1999. He was also a member of the U-17 National Pool, four-time member of Region 1 teams, and six-time member of New Jersey state teams. 

Upon graduation from Ramapo High School, Lloyd attended the United States Military Academy at West Point where he received post-season accolades in the Patriot League four straight seasons. He was also a two-time Regional All American and a two-time NCAA All-American midfielder/forward.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy, Lloyd was commissioned as a Second lieutenant in the Armor Branch.  Upon graduation, Lloyd would serve as an Athletic Intern and head soccer coach for the United States Military Preparatory School. He was responsible for coaching, training and mentoring 231 cadet candidates in their military, physical, academic and moral-ethical development.  Following this, he attended the Basic Officer Leader Course in Oklahoma before attending the Mounted Officer Basic Course in Kentucky.  Upon completion of his military schooling, Lloyd would deploy with C 1-35 AR to Ramadi, Al Anbar Province Iraq.  He served as a tank platoon leader while conducting high intensity conflict operations in central Ramadi, Al Anbar Province, Iraq. After a brief respite stationed in Germany, Lloyd would serve as an Executive Officer/2nd in command to his company during a second tour of duty to Sadr City, Baghdad, Iraq. 

Lloyd is the son of Frank and Rayna Osafo.  He has three brothers, Frank, Elliott, and Brandon. He is married to Diana Osafo and is currently attending the Maneuver Captains Career course at Fort Knox, Kentucky. His hobbies include playing soccer, working out, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, reading, and traveling.
