Lee Martinson







1969 graduate Lee Martinson was a standout two-sport athlete for the Raiders.  For the basketball team, Lee earned three varsity letters, set the Ramapo single game scoring record (45 points versus Manchester in 1969), served as team co-captain in the 1968-1969 season, and earned a smattering of honorable mention, second-team, and first-team honors in 1968 and 1969 at the league, county, and suburban levels and led the suburban area in scoring in 1969 (22.9 ppg).  He was also a finalist for the YMCA Athlete of the Year award in 1969.   On the links, Lee also lettered three times and served as team captain for both the 1968 and 1969 seasons.

From Ramapo, Lee was off to Brown University, where he continued with golf until his graduation in 1973.  He was a three-year varsity letter winner, earned All-Ivy League honors in 1972, played in three NCAA championships (New England champions in 1972), and captained the team in 1973.  Lee was also recognized for academics while at Brown, as he served as President of the National Honor Society in 1968-1969.

After college Lee continued as a golfer.  He was a National Tournament participant (1978 USGA Amateur/1982 and 1995 USGA Mid-Amateur), the 1985 New Jersey Mid-Amateur Champion, a member of the New Jersey Compher Cup and Stoddard Cup team (1984-1987), a seven-time Club Champion at Ridgewood CC, three-time Club Champion at both Olympia Fields (IL) CC and Hillendale (MD) CC, and Senior Club Champion at Trophy Club (TX) CC.

Lee lives in Southlake, TX with his wife Ruth and daughters Jessica and Sara.  He is the president and owner of Action Stainless and Alloys, Inc. and continues to enjoy playing golf.
