Justin Smith

Justin graduated from Ramapo in 1994 a four-year letterman in Tennis. Justin achieved First-Team All League, All-County, All-Group, and All-State honors in almost every season he played and was twice named The Record’s Athlete of the Week (6/2/93 and 5/24/94). In 1993 he was the number one ranked player in the state, but lost in the finals. The following year, however, he would have his redemption as he won the NJ Singles title.

After his time at Ramapo, Justin attended the University of Virginia where he was once again a standout tennis player. In his four years playing for Virginia, he started each season, Captained the team in 1998, was named Academic All-ACC in 1996, and set the school record for wins in a season with twenty-nine. In 1995 he was ranked 50th in the nation in singles and 41st in doubles. He also twice won the National USTA Amateur Hard Court Doubles title (1995-1996). In the year 2000, The Star Ledger named Justin one of the Top-Ten (NJ) Tennis Players of the 1990’s.

Upon his graduation from the University of Virginia in 1998, Justin attended the Washington and Lee School of Law where he graduated in 2002. Justin is currently General Counsel to Xtract Research, LLC and he and his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Anderson Smith, have two daughters, Clara (4) and Sophie (9mos).
