Greg Toal Best remembered for his remarkable Ramapo football career, this 1999 graduate also won four varsity letters in basketball and three for track for a total of 10 varsity letters. As a two-way performer in football, Greg’s accomplishments are legendary. As a running back, he still holds the single season Ramapo record for rushing yards—2042, and rushing touchdowns—33 in 1998. In rushing touchdowns, he is ranked in the top three of the first four places, with 29 in 1997 and 22 in 1996. His career records are nothing shirt of staggering; 5180 total career yards and 84 career touchdowns. His career touchdowns are also a Bergen County record. He helped lead Ramapo to a State Title his junior year. For his extraordinary achievements, Greg was awarded the following honors; three time All-League, All-Suburban, All-County, twice All-State, twice a Heisman All-Star, and Honorable Mention All-American his senior year. He was The Record’s Athlete of the Week in both his junior and senior years. He received a full scholarship to Boston College. In basketball, Greg was a four-year starter at guard and was named to the All-League team; in track, he won three varsity letters as a sprinter and set a new school record in the 100 meter dash. Continuing his football career at Boston College, Greg was a three year starter at fullback, played in three Bowl games, and was named best blocking back in the Big East by The Sporting News. He was also earned Academic All American honors. Greg is married to his high school sweetheart, Emily, and they reside in Franklin Lakes with their two and a half month old daughter, Kylie Reagan.. Greg is a trader with ABP Investments and is back at Ramapo as a volunteer coach with the basketball team.
