Anders Grabe Class of 1992 Soccer Ice Hockey Tennis Golf Born and raised in Sweden, Anders Grabe didn’t arrive at Ramapo until his sophomore year. By the time he had graduated two and a half years later he had earned eight varsity letters, left both league and Ramapo records and in the spring of 1991 and 1992 he had the distinction of lettering in two sports – golf and tennis. It would be hard to select his best sport because he excelled at all of them. In soccer, he was a two-year varsity award winner. Playing striker, he was a member of the 1992 State Championship team. That year he scored 24 goals, which was one goal shy of leading the County in scoring. He was selected to ALL-NBIL, All-County and All-State teams. Skating on the hockey team he earned 3 varsity letters in 2 ½ seasons. Anders set Ramapo High School records in career goals – 240, season point total – 102(1991-1992), and the single season goals scored – 73 goals (1991-1992). The seventy-three goal total was the third highest in New Jersey State history and led the state that year. During the 1991-1992 season he scored a remarkable, six goals in a game six different times. He was chosen All-NBIL and All-Conference three years running and All-State in 1991-1992. As a tennis player, Anders earned two varsity letters and compiled a 34-9 record. Playing third singles his sophomore year he was the Bergen County Champion at that level. His junior year he was the county finalist at the 2nd singles position. In Ander’s junior year, he helped Ramapo win the State Championship. Anders also played on the golf team while playing for the men’s tennis team during his junior year. He alternated between 1st and 2nd position his junior year and played the 1st position his senior year. Anders earned two varsity letters and was named All-League his senior year. Anders graduated from the University of Southern Europe in 1997. Returning to his native Sweden where he now resides, he is employed as a marketing manager and strategist for Ericsson Corporation. Single, he still enjoys playing golf and soccer, as well as scuba diving and traveling.
